Catherine Paradine

Catherine started her teaching career as an English language teacher in Japan and Taiwan. After gaining her PGCE in the UK, she spent over 10 years teaching in Primary schools both in the UK and Europe. As an Assistant Head, she led the ‘New to English’ provision at a large, majority-EAL primary school in Bradford, before becoming an Adviser at EMAS last year. She has a Masters in Education in Applied Linguistics, with a particular interest in ‘Talk for Learning’, and is currently developing the ‘Starting Out’ project for the DfE, which aims improve access to education for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Portsmouth.
